Man calls police after masseuse offeres him sex

A man called the police after he went for a massage in Manchester city centre and was offered a little something extra...sex. The shocked customer said he thought the place was legitimate after seeing an advert online, but during the private, afternoon session, he was offered sex.

The man refused the additional service saying he was ‘offended’, and a row broke out with the masseuse when he demanded his money back.

When he called the police to complain about the offer, the masseuse returned his cash and he left the building.

A police spokesman confirmed that they had received a call from the Oxford Road area shortly before 2pm on Thursday afternoon. Officers were not sent to investigate the report and no-one has been arrested.

Officers tweeted about the incident: “Strange job yesterday. A male went for a massage and was offended when offered sex. He demanded money back. Didn’t want cops to go to his house though.”

Bribe-taking policemen allegedly shoot at couple, kill wife

Police officers attached to the Isheri Osun Police Division in Lagos state have been accused of shooting at a tricycle driver Godwin Ekpo and his family, killing his breastfeeding wife Idongesit. This incident allegedly happened as the family was returning from a church programme on Wednesday night.

According to Punch, Godwin who is currently in a critical condition at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, was on his way home from church when he met a team of police officers allegedly extorting tricycle riders who passed through Obalagbe bus stop.

In a bid to avoid them, Godwin attempted to speed past them. This got the police officers angry and one of them, a police corporal identified as Aremu Musesiu, opened fire at his tricycle with the bullet shattering his car, killing his wife who was breastfeeding their 3 month old baby at the time of the incident. The bullet also pierced through Godwin's neck as he turned to look at his wife and his child.

Seeing that they have caused a problem, the police officers fled the scene of the incident.

Narrating what happened, a tricycle driver, Henry Chibuzor, said “I was going home around 10pm when I saw the eight-man team asking me to stop at a checkpoint. I was there with four other tricycle drivers. The man was coming from church with his family. As he got to the junction, he swerved and his tricycle mistakenly brushed their patrol van. A policeman hit the tricycle’s windscreen with a baton and damaged it. The second policeman fired a bullet which hit the woman in the neck, came out from the other side, and hit her husband too.”

He said the policemen collected N5,000 from him and also extorted money from other tricycle drivers. Another witness, Kabiru Olaoye, while narrating what happened, said the residents quickly formed a crowd at the scene and prevented the policemen from leaving. He added that the cops called for reinforcement, adding that officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and policemen from surrounding divisions arrived at the scene and rescued the killer-cops.

Tricycle drivers in the community yesterday staged a protest over the attack on the couple. The protesters held placards, some of which read, ‘Isheri Police, your generation will suffer,’ ‘Stop killing us,’ among others. The protest train went to the Isheri Osun Police Station, where they met a team of armed policemen in more than six vans. An Armoured Personnel Carrier was also mounted on the road to the station. The Financial Secretary of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, Lagos State branch, Chinanzor Ifechiga, who led the protest, was brutalised and her telephone seized by the Divisional Police Officer as she was accused of filming the protest and taking pictures. She was manhandled by eight policemen, who struggled to take the phone from her on the order of the DPO.

"The DPO said I was one of them (the police) and I should not join the protesters. Because I refused, he said I should release my phone to him. He said he would disgrace me before everybody. He pointed a gun at me and the crowd dared him to shoot. He then ordered eight policemen to beat me up because I refused to give him my phone. He humiliated me before the protesters. But I am determined to get justice for the couple; and I want my phone back.”she said

Commenting on the incident, the Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the police officer who fired the shot that killed Mrs Ekpo have been arrested while the DPO of Isheri Osun had also been issued a query for disobeying the Inspector General of Police’s instruction.

Meanwhile the corpse of Mrs Ekpo has been deposited at a mortuary while the children of the couple are with the police where they being catered for.

Globacom’s Head of Mobile Money Financial Business, Mr. Esaie Diei, at the commercial roll out of Glo Xchange Agents in Lagos, said it is a secure and encrypted platform, where even those working on the platform “cannot see customers' transactions.”
Explaining the operations of mobile money on the Glo Xchange network, Diei explained that the possibility of a customer falling into the hands of fraudsters has been taken care of by the dedicated toll-free Agent-Care short number 33003.
Diei assured that customers can send an SMS with the phone number of an agent to the short code, 33003 to confirm if the particular agent is genuine or not, adding that the same short code will provide the customer with the location of the nearest Glo Xchange agent and also answer other enquiries, free of charge.
"A dedicated USSD short code, *800# that will allow Glo Xchange agents to access the mobile money services of any partner Mobile Money Operator (MMO) has also been provided", he said.
About 1,000 market-ready agents have been engaged into the market for Globacom’s mobile money service, Glo Xchange, which is Nigeria’s first mobile money super-agent network sequel to the successful Glo Xchange training programme for thousands of potential agents last year, in over 30 states in the country.
Globacom’s  Gloworld Coordinator, Mr. Ebenezer Kolawole, said 10,000 well-trained and proficient Glo Xchange agents will be added to the  network in the next 12 months to deliver the much expected mobile money revolution in Nigeria.
According to him, the Glo Xchange Agents will operate from designated mobile money outlets such as kiosks, shops, pharmacies, supermarkets and mega stores in strategic locations across the country.
Kolawole disclosed that these outlets will complement the over 160 Gloworld and Glozone shops, which are already offering Glo Xchange services to customers along with branches of all Globacom’s mobile money partners such as First Bank, Ecobank, Stanbic IBTC Bank and Zenith Bank.
"Glo Xchange was introduced to speed up financial inclusion in the country as well as take cashless transactions and e-payments to the grassroots in order to enable mobile phone users to make payments, do transfers, buy airtime, pay utility bills such as, Dstv, GoTV, and  PHCN among others; pay expressway tolls and conduct any such financial transactions without cash exchange, but through the mobile phone", he said adding that “All businesses which would join the Glo Xchange Network will get the reward of being the pioneer for the mobile money revolution in Nigeria “.
Mr. Yinka Shorungbe, Country Head, Ecobank Mobile congratulated Globacom and said that the Glo Xchange mobile money agency will bridge the existing gap in the financial sector just as Chioma Okoye, Stanbic IBTC’s Network Manager and Nnenna Igbani of First Bank’s Agent Management and Mobile Financial Services Department pledged the continuous support of their organisations to the Glo Xchange  mobile money project.
All mobile money agents and customers who use the Glo network will have access to impressive  rewards and mouth-watering incentives, Globacom assured.

controversial security bill

Nigerian lawmakers are not alone. Lol! Japanese politicians come to blows over controversial security bill (photos)

A fight broke out in the Japanese parliament yesterday, September 17 as opposition lawmakers tried to stop a bill that could see the military fight abroad for the first time since World War II. The brawl which came after hours of tortuous debate, failed to stop them from being approved as members of the ruling coalition stood up to signify their votes in favour. The bills are now expected to go to the full upper house on Friday, where they will likely be passed to become law. More pics after the cut..

Photo: Diamond Bank employee arrested for N111.2m fraud

A staff of Diamond Bank Obioha Okengwu was yesterday arraigned before Justice Mohammed Yunusa of a Federal High Court, Lagos over a nine count charge of fraud. He is accused of allegedly defrauding the bank of N111.2 million.

According to prosecuting counsel, Obioha, a graduate of Abia State University, committed the offence between April and August 2014 while working at the e-Business unit of the bank, handling daily settlement entries of transactions done on Point of Sales (POS) and Automated Teller Machine

Obioha unlawfully credited huge sums of money into his family’s account instead of the bank’s accounts.
“At different times, N37million and N41. 4 million was lodged into two accounts owned by one Uchenna Okengwu. The accused also credited the sum of N10 million into the account of one Rosamund Okengwu and N9.5 million paid into one Chukwuemeka Okengwu’s account.” the prosecuting counsel told the court.
Obioha however pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case has been adjourned to Sept. 22 for hearing of the bail application.
