BUHARI TO VISIT LAGOS NOV.27 FOR COMMISSIONING OF 3 HELICOPTER
Buhari to visit Lagos Nov. 27 for the commissioning of 3 helicopters purchased by LASG for security mgt
In a press release issued by the State's Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, President Buhari will be the special guest of honour at the ceremony which will hold at the Lagos House, Alausa in Ikeja.The statement went further to state that Buhari's visit would further witness the rebranding of the RRS as the state’s no-nonsense police response squad against crime and criminality. Buhari will also join Governor Ambode in handing over the brand new patrol equipment to the Police authorities in the state. The equipment to be handed over include: three helicopters, two patrol boats, 100 motorcycles, 13 BM power bikes, 60 Ford salon cars, 55 Ford Rangers, 40 Toyota salon cars, 10 Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs, 31 Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) as well as police uniforms and other kits.
"With these security equipment, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has demonstrated his firm commitment and ability to safeguard the lives and property of every Lagosian. The government is convinced this gesture will further boost the morale and capacity of the Police, RRS and other security agencies in the state. It is an attestation to the efficacy of the state’s Security Trust Fund and we believe that this will send a clear signal that criminals and armed robbers no longer have hiding place in the state as government will spare no effort in ridding the state of every form of criminality," he said.
The statement added that the deployment of the security gadgets would further complement the efforts of the State Government in making the state a mega city that is working for all and sundry. "It is noteworthy that the Lagos State Government has stepped up its enforcement of traffic laws and declared zero tolerance on potholes on the roads, a decision that has brought to 282 the number of roads so far rehabilitated in the past five months while another set of 189 roads has been marked for repairs before the end of the year,"

The woman who fired the gun was seen calmly walking away.
Police arrested 27-year-old Andre Dawson, and recovered the purse he allegedly stole from the elderly woman.
Uncle uses his body as human shield to protect his nephew from being hit by a car
Both Uncle and nephew were crossing the road to see the city’s Christmas lights being turned on when the excited boy didn’t see an approaching car.
But Jordan turned his body to take the main impact as both were hit – with the uncle smashing into the windscreen.
His family say his courage saved Ashton from “certain death” in the crash on Friday night.
Ashton’s dad Grant said:
“My brother pushed him away so he hit the car first. “All he can remember was he was going to cross and a car came from behind and hit him.
“Doctors say Ashton may not have been here if it was him.”Jordan suffered a fractured cheekbone, a broken arm, and a broken hip while Ashton escaped with grazes and bruising to his face and knee, reports Wales Online.
Jordan and his nephew were due to meet up with his twin brother Grant, 24, for the festive event and to watch the fireworks – a yearly ritual.
The car was left with a smashed windscreen from the impact of hitting Jordan who has been recovering at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.
Ashton has since returned home – and cried when he saw his uncle’s face in the hospital on Thursday night.
Grant believes the layout of the site, with a temporary barrier between the crossing and the entrance to the car park, means there is “another accident waiting to happen”.

"What better way to start this morning than with a little story lol. When @attijany told me he loves me, I asked him why in the hopes of out smarting him. If he had said cos of the way I behave or look or dress or cos of how smart I am or something materialistic I would have had the perfect response for him. I would have said that's just infatuation. Or it's not reason enough to spend the rest of your life with someone. But that's not what he said to me! He said, and I quote “I don't have any specific reason for loving you, I just love you for the sake of God” honestly I was dumb struck by that statement. I was like wow that's kinda amazing lol. It however took me about a month after before I also said I Love him even though right then and right there, that was when I fell for him���� hehe

TREASURY LOOTERS RETURNING STOLEN FUNDS

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday disclosed that some past
government officials who stole public funds while in the saddle have
started returning parts of their loots to government coffers
voluntarily.He however said he was not satisfied yet as his government would stop at nothing to ensure all stolen funds and not a fraction was recovered.
The President is in that country for the third summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Tehran
Buhari did not name the former government officials who have so far returned parts of looted funds.
He also did not disclose how much had so far been returned to the public treasury.
While answering question from a Nigerian, Buhari said trials of treasury looters would have commenced but for his administration’s determinations to conduct thorough investigation and gather more evidence needed to prosecute water-tight cases.
He said unlike what was applicable in 1985 when he was a military Head of State that suspects could be detained while being investigated, democracy and rule of law do not encourage that.
Buhari said “On corruption; yes, they (the past government officials) are still innocent.
“But, we are collecting documents and some of them have started voluntarily returning something. But we want all.
“When we get those documents, we will formally charge them to court and then we will tell Nigerians to know those who abused trust when they are entrusted with public funds.
“So, the day of reckoning is gradually approaching.”
The President also promised to deal decisively with saboteurs who are vandalising pipelines and stealing crude oil.
“I believe if you are in touch back at home, you would have been told that already there is some improvement in power.
“We haven’t said anything to them yet. I think they only find it sensible or appropriate for them to try and improve the power.
“I’m sure you know about the privatisation of the power sector; your old friends NEPA or Power Holding Company of Nigeria have been sold to a number of interest groups.
“But, the fundamental thing about us is that we have potential in everything except performance.
“We have a lot of gas, we have a lot of qualified people but again we have a lot of saboteurs who go and blow installations.
“Those who normally steal Nigerian crude and those who blow up installations, whether they call themselves militants or whatever, they are still there,” he said.
Buhari also reiterated his readiness to end insurgency in the country.
He assured them that peace would still return to the troubled parts of the North East.
The President also assured the Nigerians that his administration would revamp the nation’s educational system from primary school to the tertiary levels.
The Nigerian Charge D’Affairs in Iran, Dr. Ali Magashi, told the President that some Nigerians who attempted to smuggle banned substances into Iran from Afghanistan are currently in prisons in the country.

Let us begin with the question, what is money? We may have different expressions for it – cheddar, bucks, dough, and c-notes – but money usually finds a way to overcome these barriers of dialects and speak to us. That said, money is simply a measure of value and a medium of exchange for goods and services. It exists in the form of an officially issued coin or note, gold, real estate, stocks & shares, a deposit in a checking account or other commodity of value.
There are two basic types of money: investments and liquid money.
· Liquid money refers to the cash we have either in our wallets or our bank accounts. They are what we use to settle our immediate expenses such as purchase of consumables or payment for services.
· Investment is the act of committing money or capital to an endeavor (such as a business, project, or the purchase of a commodity) with the expectation of obtaining an additional income or profit in the future.
Any money that comes to us as salary, wages, profit or stipend is an income and whatever money we pay for goods and, or services rendered to us is an expenditure. To keep track of our incomes and expenditures, we need a plan to guide us. This plan is called a budget.
It is very important to be mindful of our expenses by classifying what we are buying into ‘necessities and ‘luxuries’. Necessities are those things people require to survive, such as food, shelter, clothing and healthcare. On the other hand, luxuries are expensive but desirable things without which we can survive.
More importantly, it is financially wise to cut down on luxuries to be able to save and eventually make investments with the money instead.
We may need to borrow to execute some capital projects such as building or buying a home, a car or some other ventures. In such cases, the loan can be spread over a certain period so that it is paid in installments.
One should at all times ensure that his/her income accommodates the expenditures with a little extra for saving.

Nigerian police officer accused of serious domestic violence (photos)
Today at my office I met a woman in very grievous condition with a baby of about 11months and seriously ill with hernia strapped to her back. This young lady is about 29yrs old. She was cohabiting with one Sgt. Seyi Mathew Osuntokun with the Nigeria Police Force Number 212822 currently serving with the Anti-robbery squad, Rivers state.
Sgt Osuntokun is a disgrace to the Nigerian police force which is a reputable organization and whose image has been seriously battered by blood sucking policemen like him. He has further threatened to kill her and the baby with her. The woman reported to Isiokpo police station, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State, yet the beast is still roaming about freely without any action being taken. If nothing is being done to police officers like him that put the laws in their hands then I believe there is no hope for common masses like us
