Nigerian
Breweries and the Heineken brand will be hosting a business series
tagged ‘the X Retail Exhibition Space’ during this year’s Lagos Fashion
and Design Week.
According to a statement from the Style
House Files, the founders of the yearly fashion festival, the business
series will be hosted with the support of the Bank of Industry through
its recently launched fashion fund.
The statement added that the business
series would feature an impressive lineup of speakers and additional
support from the Nigerian Export Promotion Council and Sterling Bank,
Fayrouz and global cosmetics product line, Maybelline.
The statement quoted the Project Manager
of the business series, Ronke Adeola, as saying, “Economically, it has
been a challenging year as oil is no longer a sustainable source of the
nation’s wealth. It is imperative that we have diversified and fashion
could easily be one of the many opportunities to improve our current
economic challenges.
“The Fashion Business Series aims to
create dialogue between those in the fashion and textile sector,
relevant government stakeholders and key members of financial services
community to work towards scaling the fashion industry to a point where
it can significantly contribute to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product.”
The festival is expected to host 4,000 fashion insiders, including buyers, retailers and others.
The Senior Brand Manager, Heineken, Mrs.
Ngozi Nkwoji, was also quoted in the statement as saying, “Heineken
understands that the journey is important and as much fun as the
destination and it takes delight in exploring and creating provoking
design solutions.
“This year’s edition of LFDW is the
perfect place to continue celebrating cosmopolitan cities such as the
City of Lagos, which features in Heineken’s ‘Cities of the world’
campaign.”
